1. When do you accept money for commissary?
Tuesdays and Saturdays from 1:00 am to 7:00 am, 9:00 am to 11:00 am,
1:00 pm to 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 12:00 midnight.

2. What can I bring in for the inmates?
ONLY money (for commissary) and medications (must be in original
prescription bottles) will be accepted. Hygiene items, underwear,
etc. must be purchased through the jail commissary. Reading
materials will be furnished through the jail library.

3. How much money can I put in an inmate's
commissary account?
Any amount is acceptable.

4. Do you accept personal checks?
No, we only accept cash or money orders.

5. When is visitation?
Sunday from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm. Make up visits are by request.

6. What do I need to do to visit an inmate?
The inmate must put you on his/her visitation list. You must bring
a picture I.D. with you to visitation. All visitors must be
dressed appropriately - no revealing attire can be worn during inmate
visitations.

7. How long will I be able to visit?
Visitations are 30 minutes. Each inmate gets ONE 30 minute visit
per week.

8. Must my infant have an I.D.?
Yes. We will accept social security cards or birth certificates
for children.

9. Can an inmate call me from the jail?
Yes. Inmates have access to a phone from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm each
day. We have a special jail phone system and all calls are
collect. They will be billed to the person receiving the call.

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office has collect telephones in all
housing units within the facility. Many questions have arisen about
receiving phone calls and what to do when a problem is encountered.
The inmate phone system is provided and maintained by
Evercom Systems Inc., and services and billing information are handled
by Correctional Billing Services. They may be contacted 24 hours a day 7
days a week by any of the following means:

11. Do you accept mail for the inmates?
Yes, it must be sent through the U.S. Postal Service. All incoming mail
should be addressed to the inmate and mailed c/o Wayne County Jail, 201
W. North St., Wooster OH 44691.

12. Can I bring in a letter for you to give
to my friend in jail?
No. All incoming mail must go through the U.S. Postal Service.

No. We only accept letters or greeting cards through the mail.

Yes. Inmates can purchase hygiene items and writing materials
through our indigent program.

Yes. Church service, religious counseling and minister visits are
available in the Wayne County Jail.

Video arraignments are held Monday through Friday at approximately 8:00
am.

18. Do you release warrant information over the phone?
No. The person whose name the warrant is issued under must come to
the Jail, in person, with a state issued I.D. or driver's license to
check on a warrant.

19. Can I bring in items during the
holidays for my family member in jail?
No. We do not accept food or gifts during the holidays for
inmates.

20. Can inmates continue their employment
while they are in jail?
This is up to the judge and must be handled by the inmate's attorney or public
defender through the Probation Department.

21. Can inmates receive counseling while
they are in jail?
Yes. We have mental health and alcohol counselors available.
AA meetings are also available.

while they are in jail?
Yes. We have a medical staff available and inmates can receive
their personal medications.
